Robert Griffin III becomes the first quarterback in Baylor history to win the Heisman. The humble winner showed off his talents and skillsets on the football field in his junior year, and earns a well deserved Heisman Trophy Award.
The race was extremely close but Griffin snuck by with 405 first-place votes and a total of 1,687 points. The Stanford Cardinal senior quarterback Andrew Luck finished with 1,407 points.
In the beginning of the ceremony one of the candidates commented that everyone across the line deserves the award, which was well said because it’s true. All of the Heisman candidates were there for their incredible performance on the turf in the 2011-12 season.
