Tough times call for desperate measures is a need that the Miami Dolphins should have going into Sunday’s game. The Dolphins have lost two of their last three games.
The New York Jets are rolling along at the top of the AFC East division. The Jets didn’t play like the New York Jets of this season in their game against the New England Patriots, so you know the Jets will pour all their anger out on the Dolphins.
The Dolphins need to come out with some kind of energy this week. They will have wide receiver Brandon Marshall back in the mix returning from a hamstring injury. Depsite how he has been playing lately, he will become a huge factor in Sunday’s game. In week 13’s game against the Cleveland Browns, Chad Henne struggled, and didn’t look like himself. Everything was going bad for the Dolphins in the game between struggling in the red zone to giving the opposition too many opportunities.
QB Chad Henne vs. WR Brandon Marshall: Can these to get the chemistry going at all? If so, this week is the perfect start. Throughout this season these two have not been on the right page. Marshall has caught 58 passes out of 100 passes with 693 yards. The main statistic looking at his stats is his touchdowns. Marshall has recorded one touchdown, that is a problem. How can Chad Henne resolve this bump? He needs to start throwing the long ball. Marshall is 6 foot 4 inches, I think he can manage to leap up and catch some passes.
Miami Dolphins Defense vs. New York Jets Defense: The Dolphins are 4th in the league in opposition passing yards with 201 and 9th in the opposition rushing yards with 100 yards per game. The Jets are 14th in the league in opposition passing yards with 218 and 3rd in the opposition yards giving up 88 yards per game. Both teams are at the top in the NFL defensive rankings as you can see from the statistics. The key to this game is what team can stop the run because Ronnie Brown can get going at anytime even with the struggling season he has been having and LaDainian Tomlinson has been a huge impact this season for the Jets, looking like the old LT we all knew in 2007.
Miami Dolphins 20 New York Jets 17- The Jets are really good at home but I look for the bond Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall to become compatible this week. The loss of wide receiver Brian Hartline will open up more and more opportunities to Davone Bess and Brandon Marshall will come out of the waters. We will see the true Miami Dolphins this week.
