Wildcat has vanished, no more easy yards for running backs Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. In 2008, both running backs rushed for a total of 1,769 yards and 19 touchdowns. That year was the most effective year for the Wildcat offense hands down.
Williams and Brown have had an unsuccessful year this season. Top defenses have had trouble in the past with the Wildcat but this year they are catching on. The two running backs have had a total of 1,133 yards and 5 touchdowns in 12 games thus far.
You would think with the acquisition of wide receiver Brandon Marshall would allow the running game to open up much more but it hasn’t. The Miami Dolphins have had a terrible time on the offensive side. The defense has dominated and isolated the Dolphins’ offense.
Since quarter back Chad Henne has also been playing terrible and the injury of Brandon Marshall. Don’t be suprise for the head coach Tony Sparano to start calling more Wildcat plays, Maybe, just maybe, Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams can lead the Dolphins to a wild card spot.
